Our Process

NET’s progressive approach to the screening of prospective CHP candidates consists of eight distinct phases:

  • Lead Generation – Online inquiries, direct referrals, and targeted marketing efforts are a few of the avenues through which potential customers come to NET.

  • Preliminary Screening – The information necessary to complete this step includes electric and gas utility billing history, electric and thermal load profile, and operating profile of the plant or facility.

  • Customer Meeting – A positive preliminary screening leads to an introductory meeting between NET and the potential customer. This time is used to confirm assumptions and results from the preliminary screening, gather information for a detailed cost-benefit analysis, gain a firm understanding of the financial hurdles surrounding a potential project, outline the process of completing an actual project, and to ensure access to correct personnel within the potential customer’s organization.

  • Value Proposition – This step includes the development of an exhaustive list of potential costs and benefits, along with the completion of a detailed financial analysis for the customer.

  • Term Sheet – At this point, the financial cost-benefit analysis is presented to the potential customer. If favorable—and before going any further into the project development process—the customer will typically make a commitment to move forward with NET.

  • Design and Development – Finalization of cost-benefit analysis, securing of funds, completion of engineering studies and drawings, selection of equipment, establishment of project timeline, and submission of detailed cost proposals are all essential elements of the design and development phase of the project completion process.

  • Proposal – NET submits a formal proposal; customer makes purchase decision.

  • Project Execution – The final phase includes satisfaction of all funding requirements, installation of system, performance optimization, and the ongoing operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the system and all related sub-systems.
